PROGRAMS

Learn, practice, and grow in community

Trainings, therapy groups, supervision, and fellowships for clinicians and community members. Learning here is a communal practice, built on curiosity, relationship, and accountability.

OUR APPPROACH TO LEARNING

Learning is a communal practice rather than an individual achievement.

Expertise develops through curiosity, relationship, accountability, and sustained reflection. We're shaped by one another and by the systems we live in, and transformation is always iterative.

We keep learning, reflecting, adjusting, and going, guided by the belief that healing is a collective practice and that none of us is free until all of us are free.

Our trainings are led by counselor educators, clinical supervisors, researchers, and community practitioners.

Offerings include:

  • Continuing education for licensed mental health professionals

  • Intensive trainings in trauma, ethics, multicultural counseling, clinical supervision, group psychotherapy, assessment, and relational practice

  • Experiential learning in advanced clinical practice, facilitation, leadership, and supervision

  • Year-long fellowships integrating coursework, supervision, mentorship, and community-based practice

  • Consultation, mentorship, and learning communities for clinicians at every stage

COST + ACCESS

Support for the cost of training

If equitable, socially just mental healthcare is the goal, the people who want this training most have to be able to get it. Cost is often what stops them.

The Community Learning + Education Fund

The Community Fund helps cover the cost of trainings, fellowships, and advanced education at the Ruby Institute. Specialized, high-quality training is expensive, and cost keeps a lot of people out, including people thinking about going back to school. We believe socially just mental healthcare depends on the people who want this training most being able to get it.

The fund is made up of 5% of Ruby Institute profits, gifts from community members and fellow trainers, and small local grants. You can request up to $75 toward any training. If the fund runs out, we pause applications until it’s replenished.
