FOUNDER & DIRECTOR

Phoenix Rosewood, PhD, LMHC

Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Supervisor, Researcher and Educator

I work with individuals, clinicians, and organizations who want to live and work with greater authenticity, acceptance, and vitality. I've been practicing since 2011, in schools, community mental health, and private practice. My work centers on trauma, shame, identity, and the ruptures and repairs that shape our relationships.

HI, I'M PHOENIX

Curious, direct, and committed to a more just future.

My clinical interests and research shape how I work, but what guides me most is interdisciplinary curiosity and a commitment to imagining a more just future for my loved ones and the planet.

Counselors, family therapists, social workers, and psychologists are trained in the art of relationship. Our collective well-being depends on engaged listening, holding multiple truths at once, and the humility to fumble, reckon, and find our way back to ourselves and each other.

HOW I WORK

Grounded, honest, and relational

Whether you come to me for therapy, supervision, or consulting, you get the same things: a collaborative, relational partner, advanced training in clinical work, teaching/training and research, and a commitment to noticing what’s underneath.

I read what's underneath

Often with very little said, I pick up on dynamics, patterns, histories, attachment needs, and what’s getting in the way relationally and systemically. Fifteen years of clinical work and training in body-centered, cognitive and attachment-focused approaches help me put that knowing to use. I hold what I notice gently and check it with you.

I acknowledge the system

I don’t believe therapy, supervision, research, or facilitation spaces are ever neutral, and research shows that pretending otherwise causes harm. I talk openly about identity, power, and culture, including my own. In organizations, the same lens helps me see where tension lives, whose voices are missing, and which histories keep repeating.

I support the repair

My research focuses on rupture, reckoning, and repair: what happens when relationships break, and what it takes to stay with oneself and in respectful process.

I bring that to every room, whether it's a therapy session, a supervision hour, or a department meeting.

WHERE I'M COMING FROM

Who I am shapes what I notice, what I might miss, and how I show up in the room.

I share it intentionally.

I'm a white, nonbinary sometimes femme-presenting person who lives in the hills of Western Massachusetts with my partner, kiddo, and two dogs. I spend most of my free time outside, running, biking, dancing, and lately watching our neighborhood beaver family build with a drive I find genuinely inspiring.

For fun, I read and listen to a lot of critical political discourse. To balance this, I have watched the TV show the Walking Dead too many times. I grew up in the desert, the eldest of four children, which makes me equal parts protective, achievement-oriented, bossy-adjacent (hopefully!) and not totally understanding the phenomenon of New England winters.
