  • Making sense of neurocomplexity, including giftedness, ADHD, autism, AuDHD, OCD, and the unique challenges of high achievement

  • Healing from trauma, including PTSD, complex PTSD, and the lasting impact of sexual, developmental, and relational trauma

  • Exploring sexuality, gender, and identity with curiosity, authenticity, and self-compassion

  • Building LGBTQIA+ families, navigating parenthood, and redefining family across the lifespan

  • Working through addiction, attachment wounds, and intergenerational family patterns

  • Navigating liminal and intersecting identities, including cross-class experiences, cross-race relationships, and other multiply marginalized identities

  • Deepening relationship health through greater emotional awareness, secure attachment, and authentic connection

  • Healing chronic shame by understanding its relational roots while creating new experiences of acceptance, dignity, and belonging

  • Engaging in reckoning, and repair post conflict/rupture whether in intimate partnerships, families, friendships, or within yourself

  • I also provide gender-affirming care assessments, letters of support, and clinical recommendations.

Individual Therapy

 

This can be 1 -1 or with a client + their partner(s), friends, family members as needed.

Most of us didn't get a manual for how to healthfully navigate any sort of relationships whether they be romantic, erotic, platonic or familial. Therapy can be a great space to explore needs, patterns and practice new behaviors in service of more connective relationships. This can be done 1-1 and then as you'd like, bringing in people for support.

 

Phoenix works with a network of relational clinicians, family therapists and sex therapists and can make referrals as needed.

Reckoning and Repair

​

This is a structured, session-limited, treatment plan which requires the consistent enthusiastic consent of all parties to engage in transformative, accountable conflict.

 

This is goal-oriented treatment and rooted in collaborative and transformative justice principles, Phoenix's research findings on Rupture, Reckoning and Repair, disconnection and shame and emergent clinical literature. The focus of treatment is building Relational Endurance, which may end in parties reconnecting, agreeing to take time apart or reconfigure or say goodbye.

Hi! I'm Phoenix. I have over 15 years of experience in mental health counseling, supervision, training, and teaching. My clinical interests and growing research agenda shape how I work, but what guides me most is interdisciplinary curiosity and a commitment to imagining a more just future for my loved ones and the planet.

 

Counselors, family therapists, social workers, and psychologists are explicitly trained in the art of relationship. Our collective well-being depends on engaged listening, holding multiple truths at once, and the humility to fumble, reckon, and find our way back to ourselves and each other. I bring a direct, warm, and curious presence to my work with clients, supervisees, and collaborators. You can learn more about my clinical approach here.

A note on why I'm sharing this: I don't believe therapy, supervision, research, or facilitation spaces are ever actually neutral, and the research shows that pretending otherwise perpetuates harm. So here's where I'm coming from: I'm a white, nonbinary sometimes femme-presenting person who lives in the hills of Western Massachusetts with my partner, kiddo, and two dogs, and I spend most of my free time outside, running, biking, dancing, and lately watching our neighborhood beaver family build with a drive I find genuinely inspiring. For fun, I read and listen to a lot of critical political discourse. To balance this, I have watched the TV show Walking Dead too many times. I grew up in the desert, the eldest of four children, which makes me equal parts protective, achievement-oriented, bossy-adjacent (hopefully!) and not totally understanding the phenomenon of New England winters.

Fair warning: I've been told my laugh sounds like Count Chocula.
